Last month Xander entered a photo competion on the photography web site Ephotozine in there junior section. And me and mum are proud to say he got 3rd place for his image of Herringfleet Mill. The comp was called "I spy something with M" hence the mill image being entered. He has a great average in there comps they run, as he has entered 3 in total now and has been placed 3rd in all three competions (3 for 3). Below is the image that got him placed 3rd, he won a (Photographers sun postion compass). |

Well the February school half term is almost upon us, Good time for me and Xander to get out and about to do some much needed photography. I hear we could be in for some snow over this time, back out with the wellies and hats and cloves again :). Also it's expected over the next few nights that we in the UK may be lucky enough to see the Northern lights in the nights sky. "Two CMEs (coronal mass ejections) are expected to arrive in the next 24-48 hours and further...displays are possible some time over the next two nights if skies are clear. |

Another year another Poppy/ Remembrance day & more names added to long lists. I and my family will never forget their brave acts for what they have done for us all. I have been listing to "The Soldier's" new album Coming home. A very stirring listen, and one worth buying. They were on this weeks Strickly Come Dancing show on the BBC, A lovely performance. Lest we never forget, we will always remember. Adam..

As the nights are really drawing in at the moment both me and Xander are looking forward to being able to do more night, dawn & dusk photography. As he's only young the summer time proves too be some what difficult for him to get out for dawn shots even dusk shots in the summer are to late for him to be up. So the winter time is when he came come out with me to get the shots we are after. We are looking forward to Fireworks night this year, just trying to choose witch display to attend. May be able to attend more than one as normally they are spread over a couple of nights :). |

As the nights are drawing in now it was nice to get out with Xander last night before his bed time to do some night photography. Got some lovely shots of the moon using our 300-800mm lens. I must try and get my telescope sorted to take pictures, i'm sure the results would be amazing.Adam..

Back at the start of the schools summers holidays last July, i was able to supply the 5 main prizes to a completion aimed at the Junior members on the well know photo site Ephotozine. The comp was a smashing success with entries coming in from all over the world, and in there masses. And both myself and Xander where able to join in in the Judging/ voting process. The winners came from all walks of life and locations too, with the main winner from USA and second place in Oman (Middle East). |

Well here goes my first blog :). Been busy doing some portrait pictures over the past couple of days. At the mo i'm looking into buying a new caravan for some good ole family hols around the country next summer. There are tons of caravans out there ( a massive challenge to find the right one). Only thing we have set out is it needs to be at least a 4 berth and not over 21 foot in total length. Then both me and Xander can take our time finding great locations to do our photography, as i'm still really new to landscapes. |
